Visceral Manipulation
Visceral manipulation is a gentle manual therapy that aids your body’s ability to release restrictions that cause pain and dysfunction. ‘Viscera’ is the connective tissue that surrounds, supports and affords movement around every muscle, organ, nerve, bone & structure within the body.
Harmony and health exist only when motion is free and excursion is full. VM assists functional and structural imbalances throughout the body including musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, urogenital, respiratory, digestive and lymphatic dysfunction. It evaluates and treats the dynamic mobility of organs, membranes, fascia and ligaments. VM increases proprioceptive communication within the body, thereby revitalizing a person and relieving symptoms of pain, dysfunction, and poor posture.
VM evaluates and treats by assessment of structural relationships between the viscera, and their fascial or ligamentous attachments to the musculoskeletal system. Strains in the connective tissue of the viscera can result from surgical scars, adhesions, illness, posture or injury.
CranioSacral therapy (CST)
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a comprehensive therapy which can be used effectively for the treatment of many conditions at all ages. It is extremely gentle, non-invasive, and causes no discomfort or disturbance to the client.
Cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) is one of the three life-giving systems in the body the other. These three life-giving systems affect and are affected by one another so therefore it is important that they are working to their optimum. The cerebral spinal fluid bathes protects and gives nutrients to the brain and spinal cord.
If the body has received any trauma the body holds a lasting impression, leading to dysfunction and symptoms of illness and disease. The work of the therapist is to release that restrictive pattern so that the flow of the body is working at its optimum.
Treatment consists of the practitioner placing his or her hands very gently on the body, identifying the areas of restriction or tension, and following the subtle internal pulls and twists manifested by the craniosacral system until points of resistance are encountered and released, thereby enabling the tissues to return to proper healthy function. The therapist seeks to restore balance to the craniosacral system, hence giving optimum health and well-being.
Treatment is generally soothing, comforting and pleasant, and creates a sense of ease, calmness and well-being.
SomatoEmotional release (SER)
SomatoEmotional Release (SER) is a therapeutic procedure that uses the concepts of cranioSacral therapy to free the body and mind of the discomforting side effects of trauma. Many times, the emotional symptoms that we experience during trauma remain unresolved and the body is unable to heal. In order for these remaining symptoms of trauma to heal permanently a mind-body connection has to be made.
By using CranioSacral therapy, integrated with talking therapies the emotional content that is causing a physical block can be resolved in a metaphysical way; always in a safe, supportive environment for the clients well being. This allows the body’s cellular memory to begin the healing process, allowing full recovery from the traumatic experience.
Brain Speaks
Brain Speaks
The Brain Speaks and its integrative application continues using the acpects of craniosacral (CST) & SomatoEmotional techniques to an advanced level by integrating therapeutic support for any issues connected to the brain. It uses enhanced assessment & treatment abilities to the trained practitioner for neurological health and well being.
Working on the specific brain parts, hormones, neurons, glands and their integration of the spinal cord & hence out toward the rest of the body. It is great for the autonomic nervous system, stress responses, emotional issues, hormone problems, neurological problems and or dysfunctions, head injuries, post traumatic stress disorder, birth trauma, chemical imbalances to name a few. This is usually integrative with a general CranioSacral treatment and not a stand alone therapy.
Psychosexual Somatics® Therapy (PST)
Psychosexual Somatics® Therapy (PST) is an evolutionary, body-oriented therapeutic modality dealing with sexual and intimacy issues, developed by Mike Lousada. Unlike many somatic sexology training, PST approaches sexuality through the heart, not through the genitals. It is a unique combination of psychotherapeutic and bodywork disciplines, based on the understanding that most sexual issues present as a combination of cognitive (mind) and somatic (body) symptoms. It is only by addressing both mind and body, therefore, that full resolution can be achieved.
AcuCranial Therapy
AcuCranial is using the knowledge of acupuncture and cranioSacral therapy together. Meridians are pathways through which our energy flows in the body from organs to keep it strong and functional. Just like blood vessels, they can become blocked and as a result, illness can occur. Acupuncture has been used for centuries to access the meridians and help to clear blockages. Whilst working with the cranial system, acupuncture can be used at the same time to open any blocked meridian channels.
Access Bar Technique
Access Bar Technique is quite a new technique (1980), that uses points on the head to facilitate health and well being. Its application aims at creating change for the individual, some reporting better health, improved sleep, less anxiety; the list goes on…
We are all individuals & the ‘Bars’ may refresh, re-align, sooth or repair an individual. Each session is different & cumulative. Although Debbie offers this as an individual process, she integrates her skills as a craniosacral therapist manipulating the skull bones, whilst the Bars do the job they are designed for. The initial consultation determines if Bars would be appropriate for you, unless you decide otherwise Debbie works on the premise that you, as the client ,is in full control of the self.
She, being the facilitator of your healing journey, using her integrative profession methods inclusive Access Bars.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles at very precise acupuncture points. The classical Chinese explanation is that channels of energy run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These energy channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues. An obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers is like a dam that backs up in others.
The meridians can be influenced by needling the acupuncture points; the acupuncture needles unblock the obstructions at the dams, and re-establish the regular flow through the meridians. Acupuncture treatments can therefore help the body’s internal organs to correct imbalances in their digestion, absorption, and energy production activities, and in the circulation of their energy through the meridians.
The modern scientific explanation is that needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones which influence the body’s own internal regulating system. The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture results in stimulating the body’s natural healing abilities, and in promoting physical and emotional well-being.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
is a therapeutic massage treatment. The massage uses very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase lymphatic flow, with the aim of getting rid of toxins in your body.
The lymph system is part of your body’s immune system; lymph helps fight infection and acts as a toxin filter. There are around twice as many lymph vessels as blood vessels in your body. However, unlike blood, which is pumped around your body by your heart, the lymph system has no pump. Lymph relies on the pressure from your blood vessels and movement from your muscles to carry white blood cells and antibodies around the lymph system.
Lymph transports nutrients and oxygen to cells, collecting toxins on the way and then flushing the toxins out through the lymph nodes. Drinking alcohol, eating too much sugar, drinking too much tea and coffee, living stressed lives in polluted cities — there are many reasons these days why our bodies are full of toxins.
Cupping
Cupping is a technique that dates back 3000 years ago and was originally used to remove the poison from the body.
Its application is one of suction to increase skin temperature, activate fluids, treat spinal dysfunction, enhance blood circulation, affect the nervous system and their organs and is a tremendous help for painful and stiff muscles. The Cupping technique is therefore of benefit to the skin, meridians as in acupuncture, bones, internal organs and fantastic results are achieved when stagnation is apparent in the body causing irritability and depression. It is also applicable to the treatment of cellulite.
Cupping can be used alone or integrated with other therapies.
